Common Questions
Answers to Questions We Often Hear
What exactly does a pension legal matter involve?
Pension legal matters can range from understanding what you are entitled to receive, to challenging a decision made by a pension authority or employer, to planning how a retirement income is managed over time. We help you understand where your matter sits and what steps, if any, would be worth taking.
How long does an entitlement review typically take?
An initial entitlement review usually takes between five and ten working days, depending on how readily the relevant documents are available. We will give you a realistic timeframe at the start so there are no surprises along the way.
Do I need to bring documents to the first meeting?
It helps to bring whatever you have — pension statements, letters from your employer or the relevant authority, and any correspondence you have received. If you are unsure what is relevant, do not worry. We will guide you through what is needed after we hear your situation.
Are the fees fixed or are there additional costs I should know about?
For the Entitlement Clarification and Long-Term Income Advisory services, the listed fee covers the agreed scope. For Contested Decision Support, fees depend on the complexity and scope of the matter, and are discussed openly and agreed before any work begins. We do not add charges without your knowledge.
Can I proceed if I am not sure whether I have a valid case?
Yes. The Entitlement Clarification service is designed specifically for situations where you are uncertain. It gives you a clear picture of your position before you commit to anything further. There is no expectation that you proceed beyond that initial review.
Is my information kept private?
Absolutely. Everything you share with us is treated with strict professional confidentiality. We comply with Malaysian legal professional conduct rules and our own firm standards on data protection and privacy.
Do you only handle EPF-related matters, or other pension schemes too?
We assist with matters involving a range of pension structures — including the Employees Provident Fund (EPF), public service pension schemes, and employer-arranged retirement provisions. If you are unsure whether your situation falls within our scope, please get in touch and we will let you know.
